DESIGNER


MDS/Miller Dyer Spears seeks a full-time Designer to join our team of architects, planners, and interior designers. We are looking for a creative, versatile Designer with strong design skills and 8-10 years’ experience in all phases of planning, design, documentation, and specifications.


ABOUT THIS POSITION

Our new Designer should have strong creative design skills, 5-10 years of minimum experience in all phases of planning, design, documentation, specifications and a track record of successful client relationships.


The successful candidate should have experience in:

  • Planning and designing diverse environments to successfully serve client needs

  • Renovation and new construction of institutional projects

  • Producing construction documents, coordination of consultants and other disciplines, and project implementation

  • Contributing to a collaborative team and mentoring teammates with different skillsets

 
Requirements for this position include:

  • Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design

  • Ability to integrate innovative design thinking with creative problem-solving

  • Ability to convey design concepts through diagrams, sketches and three-dimensional models

  • Ability to work in a collaborative team & ability to work well under deadlines

  • Strong design software and 3D visualization skills, proficiency in Revit, SketchUp and rendering software types

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and experience interacting successfully with clients

  • Understanding of codes, accessibility regs, building systems, materials, etc.

  • Eligible or working toward registration

  • LEED Accreditation and /or WELL Accreditation a plus
