Master Plan Study
WEST ROXBURY, MA
Catholic Memorial School (CM) is an all-boys college preparatory school in West Roxbury serving grades 7-12. Dedicated to promoting each student's academic, social and personal growth, its curriculum focuses on student-centered, experientially-based, interdisciplinary experiences. Looking to better align its facilities to its curriculum, CM engaged MDS to develop a new program of space needs based on integrating STEAM pedagogies within the existing educational framework.
Catholic Memorial School Expansion
Our Master Plan envisions a new two-story, 33,800 sf building to house SCALE-UP classrooms, science labs, a fabrication lab, media arts, music lab, art and gallery space and a two story multi-purpose/performance space. MDS worked with Educational Programmer, New Vista Design, to contribute to the visioning sessions with CM leadership, faculty, students and Board members to identify the school's guiding principles and priorities for 21st Century learning goals at Catholic Memorial.
MDS continues to work with Catholic Memorial School on a series of targeted renovations. These summer projects seek to make incremental changes in support of the master plan goals and CM's academic mission.
