MDS is proud to have supported the Town of Braintree and Braintree Public Schools (BPS) in safely welcoming students, parents, teachers and staff back to school. As part of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education re-entry planning during the COVID-19 Pandemic, MDS was engaged by BPS to study all 11 schools in the district and design wayfinding and informational signage for its September 2020 reopening.

Working with school principals, MDS analyzed each school, studied ways to adapt facilities, and developed new circulation patterns with wayfinding cues. Exterior welcome signs, interior posters and floor decals designed with simple graphics help guide students and remind everyone of the new safety protocols. We incorporated BPS colors, school logos and mottos on the signage to affirm school pride and make the transition back to school a welcoming experience for all.

MDS began serving the Town of Braintree and BPS in 2015 with the renovation and expansion of East Middle School that opened in September 2020. We are currently designing a new South Middle School, which is scheduled to begin construction in 2021, targeting a spring 2023 completion.
